Feathers and Sand! This trip includes not one, but two of New Mexico’s iconic photo destinations. Bosque Del Apache is a bird and wildlife photographer’s true bucket list destination. Every winter, thousands of sand hill cranes and snow geese descend on this 57,000 acre refuge. There are also plenty of other bird species — ducks, eagles and hawks — as well as mule deer, coyotes, bobcats, and even javelina’s to challenge photographers. The winter landscape’s brilliant colors are also amazing and not to be missed.
