Larry Winslett Photography

Bosque del Apache & White Sands, NM

Dec. 8-12, 2024

Feathers and Sand! This trip includes not one, but two of New Mexico’s iconic photo destinations. Bosque Del Apache is a bird and wildlife photographer’s true bucket list destination. Every winter, thousands of sand hill cranes and snow geese descend on this 57,000 acre refuge. There are also plenty of other bird species — ducks, eagles and hawks — as well as mule deer, coyotes, bobcats, and even javelina’s to challenge photographers. The winter landscape’s brilliant colors are also amazing and not to be missed.

The shifting light, shadows, and truly otherworldly landscapes of the dunes make White Sands a real treat for photographers. Sunrise and sunsets can be unforgettable. The dramatic clouds and constantly changing hues will give your shutter button a workout here for sure! $495, Limit 8
